ZTE Wins in Poland

SHENZHEN, China — ZTE Corporation, a leading global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions, today announced that it has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Polkomtel S.A., one of the top three mobile telephony operators in Poland.

Under the terms of the agreement, ZTE and Polkomtel will forge an extensive alliance in the promotion of telecoms solutions and products, providing end users with enhanced access to multimedia services and mobile Internet applications for the next-generation mobile experience.

As the first operator in Poland to launch 3G mobile telephony services, Polkomtel pioneered innovative GSM-technology-based services in the Polish market, with the GSM network standardized across 96 percent of the country’s geographic area. As a result, Polkomtel serves approximately 98 percent of the total Polish population, significantly impacting the Polish mobile market via its collaboration with ZTE. Vodafone, which has also concluded a handset procurement agreement with ZTE, is a major shareholder of Polkomtel S.A.
